Installing i2p

so today i'm going to give you a tutorial how to install i2p inside ubuntu. before going to into the business. little background what is i2p.

I2P is an anonymous overlay network - a network within a network. It is intended to protect communication from dragnet surveillance and monitoring by third parties such as ISPs.so by simply you can use internet anonymously and you can browse darknet using I2P but i'm not going to show you that because i  myself personally just use it so i have to use it more often to adjust myself and try new thing inside i2p.

there are two ways actually to install i2p inside ubuntu. by using command line or using GUI.

command line:

type "sudo apt-add-repository ppa:i2p-maintainers/i2p" to add all necessary repository

 type "sudo apt-get update"

and for final touching "sudo apt-get install i2p"

just wait like 2-4 minutes until the system is properly install. and if you want to run the interface simply type from the command prompt

type "i2prouter start"

and go to your web browser type the url "http://127.0.0.1:7657/index.jsp"

to stop the i2p just type "i2prouter stop" or you can do it manually in GUI just click shutdown

from GUI:

go to this website first and choose the file to be downloaded base on your OS . well in this tutorial i choose for the ubuntu

after a couple of minute waiting the download to be done.
go to the directory Downloads by command line and type this "java -jar i2pinstall_0.9.26.jar"

and it will automatically show instruction from this you just click next until it's done

after that go to the directory of i2p and if you want to start the service
simply type "./i2prouter start".

and go to the browser and type "http://127.0.0.1:7657/index.jsp"

it will automatically load
for suggestion if you want to setting the proxy base on your need you can install "fireproxy" from add-ons

here is my setting or you can just set proxy manually base on you browser.

now continue at the i2p
as you can see i2p show many service inside the application

 their also provide wiki and bandwith configuration

 

 

and for using email you have to register first. before making any email read the term and conditions

 and you can to the eepsite.com to help you configure secure and anonymous I2P acces

 in i2p you can also create a hidden website service
